Drive from the convention hotel through the city center and up the winding mountain road to visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, one of the most sacred temples in northern Thailand. Many Buddhist pilgrims and adventurous travelers prefer to walk up 306 steps flanked by naga (mythical sea serpents), but we will offer a cable car ride to take all of you up to the temple in ease and comfort.
Learn about the lifestyle of the Buddhist monks and enjoy a panoramic view of Chiang Mai city from the mountaintop. The terrace at the top of the steps is dotted with small shrines and monuments, including a statue of the white elephant that carried the Buddha relic to its current resting place in the gleaming golden stupa.
